Luxury living in a small space? Sounds like an oxymoron, but totally possible with the units at RV Altitude, this new freehold condominium located right at the heart of River Valley (just minutes away from the main Orchard Road shopping district and Great World City). This development had its preview launch in early January and received much excitement for its exclusivity—there are only a total of 140 units, all of which are 2-bedroom. We take a look closer at what these units offer and provide a few layout ideas to get you excited and inspired:
Type A (441 square feet)
As the smallest of the units available, you want to make sure you’re getting more square footage for your buck. In the bedroom, consider building a lean ledge with underneath storage around your bed to carve out more space to store extra linens or to serve as a nightstand.

Small space saving techniques aside, there’s no need to forgo luxury. Go with a built-in home bar in where else but your balcony for indulgent evenings sipping wine alfresco style. If you’re hoping to make a habit of having breakfast at your balcony, it can also double up as a pantry cabinet.

Type B1 (570 square feet)
With Type B1, you get a little more space and an extra bathroom. But in order to create the sense of a larger space, you might want to knock down the walls between Bedroom 2 and the living room and replace them with glass panels. This creates an open, airy feel that will give the impression of a bigger apartment. You can turn the room into a walk-in wardrobe or a study, where privacy is less of an issue. If you’re using the space as a bedroom and privacy is necessary, you can always choose to incorporate roller blinds.

The small master bedroom does mean you can’t quite include a separate dressing table in your sleeping quarters. But here’s a genius solution: incorporate the makeup station within your wardrobe! Here, a pull-out mirror in this instance slides open to reveal an entire shelf dedicated to makeup and skincare products.

Type B2 (603 square feet)
With two balconies and L-shaped windows in the master bedroom, luxury living just doesn’t get any better than this. But what do you know? It can get better, if you’re setting aside an entire room as a cosy reading nook complete with shelves and built-in platform that lets you lounge while you read and look out into the surrounding cityscape views. The best part? The space can double as a guest room if you incorporate a pull-out bed underneath the platform.

Type B3 (624 square feet)
Here’s a great layout for entertaining since the communal areas are all located in single, elongated space, which makes it easier for your guests to move around and mingle. We would totally recommend building a kitchen island that can work as serving table to display your canapes and cocktails or as a dining area for when you’re hosting a sit-down party. Make sure you set aside an overhang for chairs if you want to sit there comfortably.

Over at the bedroom front, you can include a study area within your sleeping quarters if you tend to work from home. Build a bay window seating area, deck it out with cushions for comfort and install a ceiling-hung desk (hanging it from the ceiling frees up floor space).

Type C1 and C2 (624 and 635 square feet respectively)
Dual key units, like these ones here, are super awesome. They have a shared foyer that opens into two self-contained areas, essentially functioning like two apartments in one. A great option if you’re looking to rent out to two separate parties or planning to stay in one while renting out the other room.
In order to maximise space in the common areas, you can choose to go for a built-in bench in the dining area, which can also encompass storage on both sides of the seat. In this layout idea, it’s built together with the TV wall so the entire design feels neat and seamless—important for a small space to have that clutter-free look.

Opt for a simple, minimalistic shower area to lend the sense of a larger space. The concrete screed walls and frameless shower glass panel give off a basic, bare-bones vibe with an almost monastic elegance. A simple ledge, built also from concrete, is all you need for your bathroom amenities.
